The approach of the Feast of All Saints is a happy occasion for the Committee for the beatification and canonization of Armida Barelli to announce that the beatification rite will take place on Saturday 30 April 2022 in Milan Cathedral Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, will be presided over by His Eminence, representing Pope Francis. The venerable will also be beatified in the same celebration Mario Ciceri, priest of the Ambrosian diocese.
The coming months towards the April celebration will be marked by initiatives at various levels with the aim of making the figure and work of Armida Barelli.
The Committee, made up of the three realities that the next blessed helped to found with her fruitful apostolic activity -Italian Catholic Action (ACI), theCatholic University of Sacred Heart (UCSC) and theSecular Institute of the Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ (ISM) - is busy, together with the Diocese of Milan andDiocesan Catholic Action, in the elaboration of materials useful for the rediscovery of a leading figure of his time, in the first half of the twentieth century, but who never ceases to surprise for his modernity (see list of useful materials attached).
From 22 October until 9 November 2021 can be visited at theCatholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan (Largo Gemelli 1, Aula Pio XI) the exhibition "Armida Barelli. Nothing would have been possible without her " created by the Toniolo Institute in collaboration with the University. The panels of the exhibition reproduce some tables of the graphic novel dedicated to the co-founder of the Catholic University, created by the journalist Tiziana Ferrario for the publications of Franco Cosimi Panini publisher.
At Marianum College (Via San Vittore, 18 - Milan) you can visit the permanent exhibition Ida's voice. The commitment of Armida Barelli in the pages of "Rings of Resurrection" created by the Collegio Marianum in collaboration with the Toniolo Institute, the Catholic University and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
The organizational machine has already started that will allow the participation in the rite of the numerous faithful who, in the Italian dioceses and in many countries of the world, look to Armida Barelli as a great and original witness of lay holiness.
A space dedicated to the path towards the beatification of April 2022 is planned during the Convention of the Presidents and Diocesan Unitary Assistants of Catholic Action which will open tomorrow in Rome ("Let's go to the other shore, Contemplate, hope, take care", 29-31 October 2021, Domus Mariae).
